Recently I watched a Channel 4 documentary on the alleged atrocities committed by the Sri Lankan army against the Tamil civilians in the last days of the war against the LTTE. The release of this documentary generated lots of comments on how India should or shouldn't vote at an UN body.
I think the issue is basic, whether its for a country or for an individual, the value of life cannot be measured and no one has any right whatsoever to take it away whether its an government or a terrorist or an individual. As a society and individuals, we need to raise our voice against anyone even if the perpetrators are our own government or from our own region or religion.
Perhaps if society was mature enough to stand up to protect even a single life, many problems would not have risen.
